G2 Collective is looking to hire a senior developer with the ability to lead a team and takeover the development of our latest application build. We have been outsourcing the development of our platform and have established an excellent three-year relationship with our development partners in Washington State. Now however, as we begin to migrate from beta to scalable sales and marketing efforts, we would like to begin to build our in-house development team. Our outsource partners are fully aware of our intent to make this change, and have helped us to create a strategy around this transition.
We are looking for a Senior Developer who can also serve as a Technical Project Manager in order to help us transition smoothly to in-house development. Ultimately, we would like for this person to lead the tech side of our business as we grow.
Our ideal candidate must be strong in each of the main software development phases: (1) including requirements, (2) design, (3) coding and implementation, (4) testing and maintenance. In addition the candidate will be expected to lead junior developers and report to management about any problems or concerns. Communication skills are incredibly important for this job because a main responsibility will be the organization of technical tasks, and the delegation and management of a team who can perform these duties. He or she will be working on a variety of projects including (but not limited to): content management systems, web applications (mobile/cloud/desktop), and an e-commerce site.
The first project for our Senior Developer will be monitoring the development of the new platform and performing quality assurance checks. Ideally, the candidate will be helping us to transition from our freelance developers by working with them and learning the new platform while they complete it, performing quality assurance checks and helping to do minor problem solving and customization on our end. Eventually, when we are confident in our transition plan and bring development in- house we expect that he or she will be able to continue to design, build, and maintain the application, working hand in hand with senior management and designers.
